About the Regional Coordinator Science Policy Job in Nairobi (Deadline: Jan 13, 2025)
As the Regional Coordinator Science Policy, you will:
- Lead Programme Coordination: Drive UNEP’s science-policy agenda by managing projects and ensuring alignment with regional and global priorities.
- Engage with United Nations Country Teams: Provide technical support to UNEP Country Focal Points, ensuring efficient collaboration with UN systems.
- Foster Partnerships: Collaborate with governments, civil society, and private sectors to implement UNEP’s environmental agenda, particularly in climate action, nature preservation, and pollution control.
- Support Capacity Building: Develop initiatives to enhance regional stakeholders’ understanding of environmental policies and data-driven decision-making.
- Deliver Strategic Communication: Prepare reports, briefs, and presentations to communicate UNEP’s impact and drive evidence-based policies.

Qualifications and Experience
- Education:

- Work Experience:
- At least 7 years of experience in environmental assessment and policy at national or regional levels.
- Expertise in capacity building, project management, and stakeholder engagement.
- International work experience is desirable.
- Language Proficiency:
- Fluency in English is mandatory. Knowledge of French is an added advantage.
