The Stockholm Environment Institute (SEI) Asia integrates scientific research with participatory methods to address global environmental challenges. With expertise in climate adaptation, disaster risk reduction, and water management, SEI Asia collaborates with Chulalongkorn University (CU) to foster impactful science-policy engagement in Asia.


Your Role

As an intern, you’ll contribute to the TROSA Phase 2 project:

  • Core Focus: Development of GIS tools to monitor erosion and deposition in the Brahmaputra River, India.
  • Key Responsibilities:
    • Collect and process satellite and geospatial data.
    • Conduct data analysis, including land cover change detection and riverbank monitoring.
    • Draft maps, reports, and visual outputs.
    • Conduct literature reviews on river management and erosion policies.
    • Co-author publications, including blogs or manuscripts for international journals.

What You’ll Deliver
  1. GIS-based spatial layers for erosion monitoring.
  2. Analytical outputs: maps, graphs, and reports.
  3. Literature review summaries on transboundary river management.
  4. Contributions to scientific publications or project reports.

Qualifications:
  • Enrolled in a Bachelor’s/Master’s in environmental science, geography, geoinformatics, or related fields.
  • Experience with remote sensing and GIS software.
  • Proficient in English (spoken and written).
  • Analytical mindset and strong problem-solving skills.
