Eligibility Criteria for the 2025–26 Parliamentary Internship Programme :
- You must be a recent university graduate or close to completing your degree (bachelor’s or higher).
- You should be a Canadian citizen or a permanent resident.
- You must be available for a full-time learning experience from September 2025 to June 2026.
- You need to be non-partisan and eager to explore government operations.
- You should have a passion for Parliament and an interest in the intricacies of public policy.

Internship Details for 2025–26 Parliamentary Internship Programme :
Over the course of 10 months, the 12 selected interns will:
- First, work alongside both a Member of Parliament and an opposition MP, gaining diverse perspectives.
- Additionally, delve into the workings of Parliament and Canadian politics through structured studies.
- Moreover, participate in study tours to significant locations such as the US Congress, UK and EU parliaments, and Nunavut.

Application Requirements
Candidates are required to apply through the secure online PIP application system; hard copies or alternative formats will not be considered.
Applicants for the Parliamentary Internship Programme should include the following:
- Personal Statement: A 400-word essay outlining how you plan to contribute to and benefit from PIP.
- Approach to Teamwork: A 400-word description of how you navigate differing perspectives in a team setting.
- Transcripts: Clear PDF or JPG copies of all academic records (official or unofficial).
- Letters of Reference: Provide contact information for a minimum of two referees:
- One academic (professor, instructor, or teaching assistant).
- One professional (supervisor from a job or volunteer role).
- An optional third referee is welcome.
The application system will automatically request letters of reference, but it’s the applicant’s responsibility to ensure they are submitted.
