Transform Your Future: Don’t Miss Out on AU-EU Youth Action Lab Grants of €30,000 to €50,000!

Are you a young innovator eager to transform your ideas into reality? If so, the Youth Action Lab Grants proudly offer four unique Power Shifting Grants to support youth-led initiatives across Africa and Europe. These grants not only empower young leaders but also foster collaboration and develop impactful solutions to pressing global challenges. As a result, you can actively contribute to meaningful change in your community and beyond.

What Makes “Power Shifting”?

Youth-Led Decision-Making
The Youth Advisory Board (YAB) actively reviews and selects proposals, ensuring that young people lead the decision-making process.

Capacity Building
These grants significantly enhance the stability, resilience, financial sustainability, and organizational capabilities of youth-led initiatives, enabling them to thrive.

Streamlined Processes
We simplify the application and reporting procedures, which allows youth organizations to focus more on their projects rather than getting bogged down by paperwork.

Grant Types and Focus Areas

The Youth Action Lab provides four distinct types of grants, each targeting specific areas of youth initiatives. Depending on the type, grant durations range from 12 to 18 months.

  1. Innovation Grants
These grants support youth initiatives that create, test, or expand innovative solutions to global issues.
  2. Entrepreneurship Grants
Focused on boosting entrepreneurship and job opportunities, these grants range from €30,000 to €50,000. Organizations can apply individually or as part of a consortium.
  3. Representation Grants
These grants empower marginalized youth to amplify their voices and advocate for change at both grassroots and higher levels.
  4. Cooperation Grants
We support collaborations between African and European youth, enabling them to engage in joint advocacy efforts.

Application and Selection Process for the Youth Action Lab Grants

Given that these grants are truly transformative, the Youth Advisory Board oversees the selection process. Here’s how it unfolds:

  • Eligibility Screening: First, we assess applications based on both hard and soft eligibility criteria.
  • Longlisting and Shortlisting: Next, we categorize applicants by their respective countries, ensuring fair representation throughout the process.
  • Detailed Assessment: The YAB then evaluates and ranks shortlisted applications using a specially developed assessment tool.
  • Due Diligence: After that, we conduct a thorough review of governance and accounting practices to ensure compliance with standards.
  • Final Selection: Finally, we notify successful applicants, who complete additional documentation for contracting.
  • Site Visits: When necessary, we conduct site visits to confirm governance protocols and assess ongoing projects.

This structured approach not only supports youth-led initiatives but also empowers young leaders to create meaningful change in their communities.
