Is responsible, in cooperation with Protection and Neutrality staff, for maintaining continuity of communications with UNRWA staff in the West Bank, information on movement of staff, security incidents, access constraints and threats.
Oversees and operates the available radio and communication systems and telephone lines ensuring that incoming and outgoing messages are properly and promptly registered and incoming and transmitted as required.
Ensures that standard operating procedures and instructions from the Field Office for informing staff members in the field are followed up promptly and accurately.
Ensures that computerized logs of staff movements and incidents across the Field are properly maintained; reports on the occurring access problems and follows up with ACU who liaise with the local authorities.
Ensures that records and lists of essential telephone numbers and contact information are properly updated, maintaining confidentiality of sensitive information.
Maintains contact with the UNDSS Communications Room in the West Bank, liaising on regular intervals.
Performs other duties as may be assigned by the supervisor.
Education Requirements:
A university degree in social sciences is required for one to qualify for this un job.
Work Experience:
For one to qualify for this un job, applicants must make sure that they have at least two years of experience in functions related to the responsibilities of the post is required.
