Duties and Responsibilities for Communications Internship

Duties and Responsibilities
Under the direct supervision of the Industry and Economy Division’s Information Officer and the Head of the International Resource Panel (IRP), the intern will assist in developing and updating various information tools and raising awareness on environmental issues among different target groups (governments, business, NGOs, academics, UNEP staff, etc.). Daily responsibilities may vary depending on the individual’s background as well as the internship period.
Duties may include, but are not limited to:
Prepare press clippings on environmental issues twice a week. Support the development and implementation of the IRP communications activities and administrative tasks. Regularly update various information platforms: UNEP and IRP websites, UNEP Intranet and entrance screens. Draft articles and posts for UNEP platforms and for IRP social media channels. Undertake desktop research for reporting purposes and outreach activities.

Qualifications/special skills

Applicants must at the time of application meet one of the following requirements:

a. Be enrolled in a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);

b. Have graduated with a university degree.

c. Be enrolled in a Master’s degree. Be computer literate in standard software applications.
