Work Location

This is a flexible and remote internship opportunity so interns are welcome to work from their respective homes. The duration is six months.

Duties and Responsibilities
The internship is home-based and will serve the field office network under the Regional Section Office for South-Eastern Europe (ROSEE) of the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Istanbul, Türkiye. The intern will work under the direct supervision of the Communication and Reporting Officer of the ROSEE and in close contact with the Regional Representative, ROSEE. The intern will perform the following duties which may include, but are not limited to:
Assist the ROSEE Communications Officer in increasing effective communication and outreach and in developing creative visuals for flyers, newsletters and other visibility materials for ROSEE, including infographics and vectors. Assist the ROSEE Communications Officer in preparing web stories, social media messaging and other promotional products and activities. Assist the Regional Representative for SEE in monitoring programme delivery, mission/event preparation, collecting, reviewing and analyzing data from substantive UNODC units and field offices. Perform research on specific topics and produce working papers, reports, summaries presentations. Produce regular press clippings, newsletter, monthly briefing. Analyze and report on communication data. Perform other tasks as necessary.

Qualifications/special skills

Applicants must meet one of the following requirements:

(a) be enrolled in, or have completed, a graduate school programme (second university degree or equivalent, or higher);

(b) be enrolled in, or have completed, the final academic year of a first university degree programme (minimum bachelor’s degree or equivalent).

Applicants to the UN Internship Programme are not required to have professional work experience.
